Why we love the Anti-Itch Balm.
This balm started as kind of a mad scientist moment. As I was writing out “recipes” for the tallow balms already made, yes I still write things on paper, I was thinking about a recent poison ivy experience we had here and how I could have used something that would have quickly gotten rid of the itch for my daughter. At the time of the poison ivy, I made a quick paste made of bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar (that did work great) but it dried my daughter’s skin out dramatically. At the time, I was also researching recipes for a diaper balm because everything on the market right now is complete crap that does more harm than good. An old school diaper balm uses non-nano zinc oxide powder, which helps with boosting the skin’s cell immune response and bentonite clay is excellent for absorbing toxins or irritants… both great ingredients for a balm to help with a bite or rash and thus the idea was born and was then quickly “brewed” up in our kitchen. As always, I like to test everything on my family and there are no ingredients in my house or kitchen that I’m concerned about as far as toxicity or danger goes, so we quickly tried this balm out on both a random rash and itchy bug bites.
How to use the anti-itch balm:
Apply directly to area of the skin of concern. No need to wash off, the tallow and coconut oil will nourish the skin while the non-nano zinc oxide powder and bentonite clay will boost the skin’s cell immune response while absorbing the toxins and neutralizing the skin.
We hope you love it as much as we do!
